The SEPA Direct Debit B2B collection cannot be processed from the customer's account, as B2B mandates are restricted to non-consumer accounts. Please advise the customer to use an eligible account type for B2B collections.

Recommended Customer Message

We’re unable to process your SEPA Direct Debit payment because the account type isn’t eligible for B2B collections. Please use a business account or contact your bank for more information.

Root Cause

  • Consumer account used for B2B mandate: The customer attempted to process a SEPA Direct Debit B2B collection from a personal (consumer) bank account, which is not permitted.

  • Incorrect account type: The provided account is not classified as a business or non-consumer account, which is required for B2B SEPA mandates.

  • Bank account restrictions: The customer's bank restricts B2B mandate collections to eligible business accounts only.

  • Misunderstanding of SEPA mandate requirements: The customer was unaware that a B2B mandate specifically requires a business bank account.

Troubleshooting and Solutions

  • Advise the customer to provide a valid business or non-consumer bank account eligible for SEPA Direct Debit B2B mandates.

  • Clearly communicate that B2B mandates are restricted to business accounts and cannot be processed from personal accounts.

  • Recommend your customer to use an alternative payment method if they does not have an eligible business account.

  • Retry the transaction only after receiving valid business account details from the customer.
