**gateway**

A network issue at the payment processor. This happens when there is a network-level failure in card systems, connectivity disruption between processors, network overload or outages, or technical faults in intermediary systems.

## Recommended Customer Message

There is a problem with the card or PINless Debit network. Please contact the network provider for more information.

## Root Cause[](#root-cause)

- **Network-level failure in card systems:** The transaction could not be processed due to issues within the payment processor's network.
- **Connectivity disruption between processors:** Communication issues between different financial networks caused the transaction to fail.
- **High network load or outages:** The payment processor's network experienced a temporary overload or downtime.
- **Technical faults in intermediary systems:** Failures in switching systems or routing layers impacted transaction processing.

## Troubleshooting and Solutions[](#troubleshooting-and-solutions)

- Advise the customer to retry the transaction after some time, allowing network issues to be resolved.
- Recommend using an alternate payment method if the issue persists or the transaction is urgent.
- Monitor Chargebee or the gateway's status page for updates on service restoration.
- If these issues are frequent, contact the payment gateway's support team to investigate the recurring network problems.
